About Kadampa Meditation Centre London
Kadampa Meditation Centre London is part of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU), an international association of Mahayana Buddhist centres and groups that follow the Kadampa Buddhist tradition founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
We offer a programme of meditation classes, courses, and retreats for all levels of interest and experience. Our aim is to help people find lasting peace of mind and happiness by integrating Buddha’s teachings into their daily lives.
Our Centres
Kensington
City Meditation Space
Our Kensington centre offers a peaceful city-centre setting for meditation and study. Located in the heart of West London, it’s easily accessible by public transport and provides a calm retreat from the bustle of daily life. We offer drop-in classes every day, lunchtime meditations, and study programmes.
Morden
London World Peace Temple
The London World Peace Temple in Morden is a purpose-built Buddhist temple and one of the International Temples Project centres. It provides a beautiful and inspiring environment for meditation, with spacious shrine rooms and tranquil grounds. We hold regular classes, retreats, and special events.
What We Teach
All our classes are based on the teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, presented in a practical and accessible way. Topics include:
- How to deal with difficult emotions such as anger, attachment, and jealousy
- Developing patience, love, and compassion
- Understanding the mind through meditation
- Finding meaning and purpose in daily life
No prior knowledge of Buddhism or meditation is needed. Everyone is welcome regardless of background, faith, or experience.
